For an excellent introduction to Molokai, here's a four minute film produced by National Geographic on the island and its people:
Molokai, Far From the Tourist Stampedes

Molokai has no traffic lights, two gas stations, two golf courses, and all the good things you come to Hawaii to enjoy like beaches, snorkeling, diving, sunbathing, scenery, great food, Hawaiian entertainment and fantastic oceanside golf.

Molokai is an island unspoiled by tourism and rapid development. While there's plenty to do, you'll find that it's still a peaceful tropical paradise free of schedules and crowds.

There are plenty of things to see and do on Molokai but you'll find that everything is much more personal and much less regimented.  Tours and guided activities often involve only you and the guide and you'll never find a crowded beach.  Feel free to do things at your leisure, there's never a need to hurry.

Some of the activities available on Molokai include:

Golfing
Hiking

Kayaking

Snorkeling
Scuba Diving
Horseback Riding
Sailing
Surfing

Windsurfing

Fishing
Shelling
Shopping
Mule Tours
Historic Walks/Tours
Hunting

The links below are examples of just some of the major activities available on Molokai:

For an excellent introduction to Molokai, here's a short streaming film produced by National Geographic on the island and its people.

SCUBA Diving & Snorkeling
There are plenty of Reefs on Molokai that are accessible by walking in from the shore. Anyone who enjoys diving or snorkeling though shouldn't miss Molokai's barrier reef. It's the only barrier reef in Hawaii and it's ranked some of the best diving in the world. Since it's located away from Maui and the other islands, its only dived by charters out of Molokai and is completely unspoiled. Forget sitting on a dive boat waiting for a spot to open up at Molokini Crater, this 28 mile long reef system sees only a few boats a day because of it's remote location.

Hiking, Exploring and History

There are plenty of beautiful and historic places on Molokai. Once inhabited by local tribes of native Hawaiians, the remains of villages exist to this day and local guides can take you on walking and bike trips to see them. There are also several plantations nearby that grow items such as coffee and macadamia nuts and are open to the public for tours.

Many natural sites exist as well. There are plenty of the waterfalls that the Hawaiian islands are famous for in addition to soaring cliffs overlooking the barrier reef on the south side of the island.

Molokai is also host to one of the last remaining leper colonies in the world. While the disease was cured 50 years ago, many of the residents who were exiled there have chosen to remain even though they are healthy again. Completely isolated from the rest of the island, Father Damien's Leper Colony is only accessible by Mule or airplane. Only 100 visitors are permitted to travel to the town each day making this a very unique experience.
